Susan’s journey weaves like the intercoastal waterway up and down the eastern seaboard while following her passion for the coast, creative endeavors, and making magical discoveries. She completed her BFA in Graphic Communication at Washington University in St. Louis and, later, an MFA in Textile Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her choice of locations and the havens she created along the way inspired the chapters of her journey… 

She was a freelance textile colorist in NYC, managed a textile swatch library at the Washington Design Center in DC, lifeguarded on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, sold Native Southwest jewelry in St. Augustine, Florida, completed graduate internship studies in New Mexico, was an upholstery stylist and trend/color forecaster for Burlington Industries in Greensboro, NC and for the last 20 years, was a decorative laminate product designer for OMNOVA Solutions in Monroe, NC.
